This hard-working corner of our laundry room did the job for a lot of years, but with the current renovation happening, it was time for a major upgrade. I wanted to create a space that still functioned well but looked much better! Because style and function is always my goal in each space I design.
I chose matte black because I feel it has a timeless yet modern appeal. This sink is crafted from natural quartz and is known for its durability & stain resistance, which I knew I needed in this hardworking corner. It’s 12” depth was also a huge selling point for me because it allows plenty of room for scrubbing stains out of clothes and rinsing paint brushes from all my DIY projects. I adore the undermount style of this sink because it just looks so seamless with the countertop. This same type of sink would also be perfect for a kitchen too because it holds up well to wear & tear.
Since I was working with a small space, I knew the single hole faucet was the way to go here. It has a minimal footprint, but is big on style. And the pull down spray extension really increases the functionality. My kitchen faucet has the feature and I use it all the time, so I knew I wanted that here too.
The fluted accent on the front of this sink cabinet was created from 3/8” dowels that I cut, wood glued, and clamped into place. It was a bit time-consuming but not at all difficult. In the end I LOVE what it adds to this space. Then I finished it off a coat of Behr Creamy Mushroom paint and matte black drawer pulls that coordinate perfectly with matte black Elkay faucet and sink.
The transformation in this part of the laundry room is even better than I could have imagined! I’m so grateful for the progress here, and cannot wait to start using this space daily!
I decided it was time to do something about the painted 90’s linoleum floors that have been bugging me for a while. We have dreams of doing a full renovation on this bathroom some day, but it’s not the time for that quite yet. So instead I decided to give this floor a quick & […]
When I was out antiquing a few weeks ago, I stumbled across a vintage cabinet. It was in rough shape and partially hacked apart. But it was the exact dimensions that I needed for my kitchen corner, and I saw the potential that this old girl had, even in the rough state she was in. […]
My goal has always been to add character to my bland builders grade home. This corner in my kitchen was next on the list! I decided I wanted to add bead board to this nook to create texture and personality. I also was really drawn to the idea of a shelf with pegs underneath. Here […]
